Stones
Braemar stones
All Men’s classes use a 22+ pound stone. Also known as 1.57 Stone and 9.98 kg.
All Women’s classes use a 12+ pound stone. Also know as 0.86 Stone and 5.44 kg.
Open stones
All Men’s classes use a minimum of a 16 pound stone. Also known as 1.14 Stone and 7.26 kg. It can be up to a 22 pound stone. Or the minimum size of the Braemar stone listed above.
All Women’s classes use a 18 pound stone. Also know as 0.57 Stone and 3.63 kg. It can be up to a 12 pound stone. Or the minimum size of the Braemar stone listed above.
Weight for Distance & Weight over Bar - For all classes the overall length must not be more than 18”. Minimum weights are as follows. The WOB requirements are the same as the Heavy Weight for Distance
Heavy Weight
Men’s - 42 pounds, or 3 stones, or 19 kg.
60+ uses a slight lighter weigh at 35+ pounds, 2.5 stones, or 15.88 kg.
Women’s - 21 pounds or 1.5 stones, or 9.53kg.
60+ uses a slightly lighter weight at 14 pounds, 1 stone, 6.35 kg.
Light Weight
Men’s - 28 pounds, 2 stones, 12.70Kg.
Women’s - 14 pounds or 1 stone, or 6.35Kg.
Hammers - For all classes overall length cannot be more than 50 inches, or 1.27 meters. Minimum weights are as follows.
Heavy Hammer
Men’s - 22 pounds, 9.98 kg.
Men’s 60+ goes down to 16 pounds, 7.26 kg.
Women’s - 16 pounds, 7.26 kg.
Women’s 60+ goes down to 12 pounds, 5.44 kg.
Light Hammer
Men’s - 16 pounds, 7.26 kg.
Men’s 60+ 12 pounds, 5.44 kg
Women’s - 12 pounds, 5.44 kg
Women’s 60+ goes down to 8 pounds, 3.63 kg.
